On Monday 29 March 2010 immediately after Maghrib Prayers at 7.30pm, Dr Haitham Haddad will give a presentation on “Civic Participation”. This will be followed by a round table discussion. The meeting will cover issues such as engaging in local and national politics, elections, voting, candidates for election, membership of advisory and “watchdog” panels overseeing the work of the health service, the police service, the judicial service, housing trusts, the governance of schools, involvement in residents associations and faith forums. The meeting will also cover the impact and implications of not participating in civic society.
